Guadalupe River

Map of Guadalupe River

The Lower Guadalupe offers everything from tame flatwater to challenging Class III rapids and water falls. Canyon Dam feeds the river with many springs along the way that provide additional flow. The Lower Guadalupe starts just below Canyon Lake in Comal County and flows down to New Braunfels over a distance of about 22 miles. The river actually flows all the way to the Gulf of Mexico, but only Texas Water Safari paddlers can be found on those stretches below New Braunfels, with most of that activity limited to the areas below the confluence of the San Marcos River southeast of Gonzales in Gonzales County.
