LCRA UPDATE

LCRA WILL NOT RELEASE WATER FROM LOCAL LAKES,

LCRA doing the right thing,

Due to the continuing deterioration of the Highland Lakes since Nov. 15, LCRA has decided to not release water to the rice farmers downstream.  At least for a while.  The Highland Lakes supplies more than a million businesses and residences in the Central Texas region.

Thanks to our Senator, Troy Fraser and Kirk Watson and local officials along with several organizations who worked to save our water, our water supply will be protected.  Lake Travis and Lake Buchanan are the reserve lakes for LCRA, they also provide  recreation to our whole area.

We owe many thanks for those who worked to make LCRA change their minds and vote to retain our water.  Austin is the biggest customer and was a strong advocate to retain our water.
